These are frequently asked questions about boat rentals??
For Members and Non-Members

What times are the Half-Day and Full-Day Rentals?

Half Day Rentals are 8:30am to 12:30 pm or 1pm to 5pm
Full-Day Rentals are 8:30am to 5pm
Custom times & hourly rentals are based on availability.

Is fuel and oil included in the rental?

Fuel and oil is not included in the rental.  The cost of fuel and oil for your rental will vary.  The smaller single engine boats will burn less than the bigger twin engine boats.  Also, if you run offshore at high speed you will burn more than cruising the Intracoastal at slow speed.

What is required to rent a boat?

You must be 22yrs old or older and have a photo ID (with address), credit card (security deposits start at $500) and boating experience.

How much boating experience is required to rent a boat?

We require a minimum of overall boating including knowledge of docking and anchoring a vessel of similar size to the boat you are renting.  You also should of either owned or have rented a boat, that you have operated yourself, as well as have basic knowledge of channel navigation and the ability to read a map/chart.  You will be asked to document your experience on a form.

Where can you go with the boats and are they allowed in the ocean?

The boat is yours to explore all the waterways and canals in the Fort Lauderdale area.  The local canals are filled with huge mansions, giant yachts, and waterfront restaurants.  If you are interested in going into the ocean all the boats are allowed offshore depending on your boating experience and the weather conditions that day.  The smaller boats are allowed up to 2miles offshore and the larger up to 10 miles (if weather permits).  To the North you can go as far as the Boca Raton Inlet (15 miles) and to the South as far as Haulover Inlet (North Miami Bch 15 miles).

Is there a map/chart included with the rental?

Absolutely, a detailed map/chart is provided on board.  A staff member will go over it with you.

Do we offer insurance and how does it work?

We offer a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) every time you rent a boat.  Prices starts at $40 for a non-member and $25 for a member.  You can either accept the waiver or decline the wavier.  If you accept the CDW you will be covered for the hull of the vessel you rented under the terms of the boat rental agreement.  If you decline the CDW you are responsible for ALL damages.  The CDW does not include any type or form of liability insurance whatsoever.

How is your boat availability and How do I make a reservation?

We very rarely have a problem with boat availability.  It is highly recommended that you make reservations in advance to guarantee the boat you want.  Usually a few days notice is no problem.  However, on holiday weekends and special event weekends you should book at least a week or more in advance.  We will take a reservation up to 60 days in advance.
